Our History

The non-profit was started in April of 1945 and since then has served the youth of Ohio with an outdoor education experiences, including hiking, swimming, archery, team-building, and camping. The Erie County 4-H Camp has as its primary mission:

…to develop youth into caring, competent and contributing citizens through camping experiences that expose them to a variety of healthful and educational activities and adventures.

We also extend our camp to High School Band Camps, Football and Cross Country Teams, Church groups and other groups that want a unique camping experience.

We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit and are a self sustaining entity, with revenues generated from camping fees. We also receive grant funding from various sources as special projects are identified that improve either the operations or infrastructure of the camp.
